About 5 years ago I was watching my class have their school photos taken “legs this way, arms there, turn your head, now smile” and I remember thinking ‘that’s not their true smile, that’s not the smile I see when they are running around outside having fun or playing with their friends.’

So that made me think, why do school photos have to be so formal? And that’s how Claire Drillingcourt Photography started. I set my business up to capture children’s real smiles while they are having fun outside, relaxed, with their friends. By taking a bit of time I’m able to photograph their lovely natural smile that takes a moment to be seen sometimes.

I also didn’t want it to cost a fortune for parents to be able to have pictures of their own children so when parent’s buy the photos, they buy exactly what they want.

Working in nurseries and being a primary school teacher for over 15 years means I understand children can take a while to relax around someone new, this is why my photo shoots are kept informal, friendly and fun.

So a bit about me. I’m Claire, I live in Reading with my husband and 2 fantastic children and we love to spend weekends camping, swimming and going on adventures. I love singing loudly out of tune in my car, i’m a bit of a hoarder and have a slight addiction to red sweets. I studied photography at college and university and just love photographing children and families.

  • This includes your photo shoot at a local outdoor location, where you will have time to relax and enjoy the session. You will then receive 15 fully edited digital images for you to print however you wish.

  • This includes your photo shoot at a local outdoor location, where you will have time to relax and enjoy the session. You will then receive 25 fully edited digital images for you to print however you wish.
